Using Twitter for research – Listening for Opportunities

Twitter is a fabulous tool for networking with others and for doing business.  If you aren’t on Twitter yet I would highly suggest that you get yourself on there.

I am currently using twitter to keep up on both Real Estate happenings by others working in Real Estate as well as keeping up on others that are focusing in Social Networking and Networking.  It has been great!

Now back to the topic at hand – using twitter for research and listening for opportunities…

Part of my morning routine is to check on what all of my twitter friends are doing and get a handle on what the buzz is for the day.

This really helps me stay connected with others, and also gives me the opportunity to find ways to increase my  business by finding needs and opportunities as well as doing some research and learning.  That is where this post comes from today – directly from my twitter friend Chris Brogan.  Chris posted a Tweet (short 140 message in twitter) this morning on a blog post that he made at www.chrisbrogan.com titled:

Interesting Chart – Detroit Home Prices on the Rise

 
I stumbled upon this chart today that shows that housing prices are on the rise in the Detroit Michigan area. I found this to be interesting, especially since I have done some investing in Michigan over the last couple of years, however not in the Detroit area.
